Citations: Citation Generators

This guide explores the basics of citation styles and introduces tools for citing both print, database, and web sources.

Database Citation Generators

Library databases will provide citations for the articles provided.  Each database works differently, so you will need to look for the tool that creates the citation.  Usually this is indicated by the word "cite" or "citation".  ALWAYS CHECK THE DATABASE GENERATED CITATION AGAINST THE PROPER CITATION STYLE MANUAL OR YOUR TEXTBOOK.  EBSCO APA citation generator tends to provide incorrect capitalization.

Below is an example from EBSCOhost Academic Search Complete.

Look for the "golden ticket" cite icon in the right tool bar.

Title Page Generators

MLA does not require a title page; instead, include your name and course information flush with the left margin at the top of the first manuscript page, and the title below that, centered on the page.
